Nikke Update: Pierce Fixes, Phantom Rework, QoL

Nikke’s new patch improves Pierce attacks, reworks Phantom’s skills, adds QoL fixes, and updates the TRACING THE STARS rhythm game.

Shift Up has rolled out a fresh update for Goddess of Victory: Nikke, bringing a focused set of battle adjustments, quality-of-life enhancements, and a handful of fixes for the ongoing TRACING THE STARS rhythm mini-game. While no new character banners are tied to this maintenance patch, several skill revisions and system tweaks are worth a closer look, especially for players who rely on Pierce attacks or use Phantom, Flora, or Rapi: Red Hood in their squads.

Battle Fixes & Skill Revisions

Pierce Hit Detection

The biggest mechanical change lands on Pierce attacks. Hit detection for Pierce projectiles has been improved to make it easier to hit boss weak points, specifically the Cancel Ring and the core. This is a direct buff to any Nikke with Pierce capabilities — expect more consistent damage output against large bosses like the Chatterbox or Gravedigger.

Phantom Rework: Calling Card & Thief’s Vision

Phantom’s kit has been reworked significantly, though the developer notes stress that the actual effects remain unchanged — only the activation logic and description are clarified. The key difference: both parts of Skill 1 "Calling Card" now affect the caster (Phantom) instead of alternating between target and self. Skill 2 "Thief's Vision" now applies its stack-buff to self before consuming stacks, and the damage buff persists until the Burst Skill is used. This makes Phantom’s rotation more intuitive: land normal attacks to gain stacks, then unload the Burst for maximum sustained damage.

Flora & Rapi: Red Hood Clarifications

Flora’s Skill 2 "Iris" now clarifies that the trigger condition is when an adjacent ally’s HP drops below the threshold while they are still alive. Previously the wording could be misinterpreted. Similarly, Rapi: Red Hood’s Skill 1 "Battlefield Assessment" and Skill 2 "Attachable Projectiles" now state that their effects are continuous and "Cannot be removed." This removes any ambiguity about dispels or buff-cleansing enemies.

Rosanna: Target Clarification

Rosanna’s Skill 1 "On the Lam" now correctly reads as activating after 10 normal attacks (not "landing 10 normal attack(s)") and targets the two enemies with the highest final ATK. No functional change, but the new wording is cleaner.

Content & System Improvements

Several bugs and minor annoyances have been ironed out:
Gold Mileage Ticket acquisition now correctly plays the Nikke obtain animation.
Lobby live wallpaper changes (Bloom, Color Grading) update immediately when toggled.
Reset Filter button in Lobby Decoration is now easier to select.
Full Burst duration UI animation no longer appears unnatural.
Solo Raid Museum: Black Smith fight now allows ally automatic shooting to function smoothly.
Anomaly Interception Regroup screen displays correct level information.
Hard Campaign chapters can no longer be accessed through unintended routes.
Campaign clear animations now match the difficulty level.
Japanese voice for Jien has been added for Main Scenario Chapters 43–44, with a new voice actor.
– Miscellaneous fixes for character accessories, expressions, and UI elements across several screens (Champion Arena, Lost Sector, Archives, Nikke Details).
Localization fixes in multiple languages.

TRACING THE STARS Rhythm Game Updates

The TRACING THE STARS mini-game receives the bulk of targeted updates in this patch:
– Earlier mission progress (from the July 2 update) now correctly counts toward related missions.
FAST/LATE indicators can now appear for PERFECT hits on the result screen (toggle required in settings).
Song list now supports alphabetical jump — tap a letter to jump to the first song starting with that letter; tapping repeatedly cycles through songs.
– An exclusive video has been added for the song "Mo Sho Chu☆it."
Server ranking button removed from the ranking screen; use the Shift key or the Difficulty toggle to switch.
Shortcut keys on PC adjusted: Jump to Shop changed from S to F9; Song List Quick Scroll changed from Q/E to PageUp/PageDown.

Final Thoughts

This update is a solid maintenance patch that clears up several long-standing ambiguities and annoying glitches. The Phantom rework and Pierce hit detection improvements are the real highlights for combat-focused players, while the TRACING THE STARS changes make the rhythm mini-game feel more polished. Check your settings for the new FAST/LATE toggle and explore the updated skill descriptions to adjust your team rotations accordingly.
