The 999 Nights Outfit Collection

The headline feature of NTE 1.2 is the 999 Nights outfit series. This is a themed set of costumes that draws from a storytelling aesthetic, tying into the update's narrative focus. Judging by the previews, these skins change the visual silhouette and effects of the characters significantly.

  • Who gets a 999 Nights outfit? The initial batch includes costumes for several existing characters. The exact list hasn't been fully confirmed, but early leaks point to at least four characters receiving a 999 Nights variant.
  • Are they purely cosmetic? Yes — none of these outfits provide stat boosts. They are strictly visual upgrades, though some may come with unique idle animations or skill effects.
  • How to obtain them? Most will be available through the in-game shop for Riftcrystals. There's also a possibility that one or two will be earnable through the 1.2 event pass (unconfirmed).

Outfit Recoloring System

Alongside the premade skins, version 1.2 introduces an Outfit Recoloring feature. This lets players change the color palette of any owned outfit using materials earned from gameplay. It's a welcome addition for F2P players who want to personalize their favorites without spending.

  • Materials: You'll need Chromatica Dyes, which drop from daily activities, event shops, and certain world bosses.
  • Recolor options: Each outfit has multiple preset color channels (e.g., primary, secondary, accent). You can mix and match as long as you have the dyes.
  • Permanent unlocks? Once you dye an outfit, the new color scheme is permanent but can be overwritten by applying another dye.

This system adds a layer of long-term engagement for players who enjoy fashion. It's not meta-relevant, but it does give the community another reason to keep farming.

Shinku Kit Overview: Skills and Playstyle

Now for the part most players are waiting for — Shinku, the new five-star character joining the roster in 1.2. Shinku is a Fire-element DPS who excels in sustained combat and has a unique Frenzy state.

Basic Attacks and Branch Attacks

  • Normal Attack: A rapid three-hit combo that builds Rage.
  • Branch Attack: Hold the attack button to execute a charged strike that consumes Rage for bonus damage and applies a Burn DoT. Timing the branch attack during specific windows in her combo extends the Frenzy state (details below).

Frenzy State

  • Entered by accumulating enough Rage (via basic attacks or skills).
  • While Frenzied, Shinku's attack speed increases, and her Branch Attacks become enhanced, dealing AoE Fire damage.
  • The Frenzy state lasts for 12 seconds and can be extended by landing Branch Attacks before the timer expires.

Passive and Ultimate

  • Passive: When Shinku triggers a Burn reaction, she gains a 15% Fire damage bonus for 8 seconds. This encourages pairing her with supports that can apply Burn consistently.
  • Ultimate: A high-damage single-target attack that explodes for massive Fire damage. If the target is already Burning, the explosion also spreads the DoT to nearby enemies.

Strengths

  • High sustained single-target DPS with good AoE during Frenzy.
  • Flexible rotation — you can extend Frenzy with smart play.
  • Works well in Burn-centric team comps.

Weaknesses

  • Needs field time to build Rage; she is not a quick-swap DPS.
  • Requires dedicated support to consistently apply Burn for her passive.
  • Lacks innate survivability — you'll want a healer or shielder.

Should You Pull Shinku?

That depends on your account and team needs.
If you lack a strong Fire DPS, Shinku is a solid investment. She offers reliable damage and a fun, high-skill rotation.
If you already have a built Fire team (e.g., with Mizu or Ember), Shinku can still be a sidegrade or upgrade depending on your supports. She shines with characters that enable Burn reactions, such as Fia or Cinder.
For F2P players: Her power is good, but she's not a must-pull unless you're aiming for Fire-centric content. The Outfit Recoloring system is F2P-friendly and may satisfy your customization urges without pulling.

Verdict: Recommended for players who need a Fire DPS or enjoy high-APM carries. Others can wait for reruns or future banners.

Events and Rewards in 1.2

Alongside the banner and cosmetics, the update brings a series of limited-time events.
Night Market: A daily login event that gives out Riftcrystals, Chromatica Dyes, and character ascension materials.
Trial of Blades: A combat challenge where you test Shinku and earn upgrade materials.
Outfit Showcase: Participate in weekly voting for best-dressed characters to win furniture and exclusive name cards.

Rewards are generous — expect enough materials to level Shinku to 80 and unlock her first Resonance node without spending.

Pre-Patch To-Dos

Before the update drops, make sure to:
– Use up any Fate Stones from phase 1 events; they expire with the new patch.
– Pre-farm Fire ascension materials if you plan to pull Shinku (they are available in the World Boss pool).
– Stock up on Stamina Potions — you'll need them for both the events and the new dye farming.

Day-1 Priorities

Once 1.2 goes live:
1. Claim the Night Market rewards first for a quick resource injection.
2. Unlock the Outfit Recoloring tutorial to start earning dyes immediately.
3. Pull for Shinku (if you decided to) and level her using the event materials.
4. Experiment with the new outfits on your main team; some may require clearing a short quest to unlock the dye system.

Unconfirmed — subject to change: There are rumors of a second banner running concurrently in the second half of 1.2 featuring a returning character. This has not been officially confirmed.

Version 1.2 is a substantial update for NTE, bringing meaningful cosmetic depth and a compelling new DPS. Whether you're in it for the fashion or the meta, there's something here for you. Keep an eye on our Neverness to Everness news hub for more detailed guides and updates as the patch rolls out.
