Blue Archive’s July 14 update brings new Pajama banners, returning Secret Midnight Party event, and Grand Assault. Here’s what you need to know.
Blue Archive's July 14 maintenance introduces a batch of new and returning Pick-Up Recruitment banners, a rerun of the popular Secret Midnight Party: The Chimes of Tag event, and a Grand Assault against Hieronymus in Urban Warfare terrain. With a packed schedule lasting just one week, Senseis need to prioritize their Pyroxene spending and event grinding carefully. This update also immortalizes the Operational Plan: Steel Continent story, making it permanently accessible.

Banner Overview
The July 14 update introduces Koyuki (Pajamas) as a new 3★ student, alongside reruns of Yuuka (Pajamas), Noa (Pajamas), Haruna (New Year), and Fuuka (New Year). All banners run from after maintenance until July 21, 01:59 (UTC), and feature standard 200 Recruitment Points to spark a Pick-Up student. Any unused points convert to Keystone Pieces at a 1:1 rate.
Koyuki (Pajamas) is the only new unit in this batch, making her the primary target for collectors. The returning Yuuka (Pajamas) and Noa (Pajamas) are limited reruns, while Haruna (New Year) and Fuuka (New Year) are also limited but appeared more recently.
Should You Pull?
For F2P players, the short banner duration (one week) and multiple concurrent events mean Pyroxene conservation is critical. Koyuki (Pajamas) is a new unit, but without immediate meta dominance information in official materials, she may be a luxury skip unless you lack a strong Mystic support. Yuuka (Pajamas) and Noa (Pajamas) have seen use in certain raid compositions, but they are not essential for most content. Haruna (New Year) and Fuuka (New Year) are also niche picks.
If you are missing key permanent units (like Ako, Himari, or S.Hoshino), it is safer to save. The next patch may bring more impactful banners. For dedicated collectors, pulling for Koyuki (Pajamas) is your only chance until a rerun, which could be months away.

Events & Rewards
Secret Midnight Party: The Chimes of Tag (Returning)
The event story is available from July 14 to July 21, with the shop and treasure hunt mini-game open until July 28, 01:59 (UTC). Clear story episodes for Pyroxene and event currency, then farm quests for more currency to spend in the shop. The Treasure Hunt mini-game requires 200 Frenzy MAX Umeboshi per slot and offers rewards including BOOM: Classic Edition and growth items. Sweeping is available for quest stages.
Specialized students provide bonus event currency; check the in-game menu to optimize your farm team. Unused event currency converts to Credit Points at the end.
Operational Plan: Steel Continent (Immortalized)
This event story is now permanently available under Main Story EX, Decagrammaton Chapter 3. You must clear Episode 10 to access the story and Episode 21 for the Decagrammaton Showdown boss fight. Episode 26 unlocks a replay function for battles.
Grand Assault: Hieronymus (Urban Warfare)
Running from July 14 to July 20, 18:59 (UTC), this season features Hieronymus on Urban Warfare terrain. The boss has varying defense types by difficulty:
| Difficulty | Defense Type | Attack Type |
|---|---|---|
| Normal – Extreme | Light Armor / Heavy Armor / Special Armor | Normal |
| Insane | Light Armor / Heavy Armor / Special Armor | Explosive |
| Torment | Heavy Armor / Special Armor | Explosive |
Ranking rewards include 10-Recruitment Tickets (usable until August 31). Strategies often use Explosive teams for higher difficulties. Check our Blue Archive July 14 Maintenance: Banners, Events, Compensation article for more details.
Day-1 Priorities
After updating, follow this checklist:
- Claim maintenance compensation from mailbox (valid 7 days).
- Clear Secret Midnight Party story stages to unlock quests and start farming.
- Check the Treasure Hunt mini-game if you have event currency.
- Review new banners and decide on pulls.
- Attempt Grand Assault placements early for better ranking.
- Farm double rewards (Lessons, Scrimmage, Hard missions) – these campaigns end July 20.
Conclusion
The July 14 update packs a lot into one week, from limited banners to returning events and a Grand Assault. F2P players should prioritize event farming over pulling, while meta-focused Senseis can consult our dedicated guides for banner value and raid strategies.
