Exaiphanes Blade Upgrade Guide in Genshin Impact

Exaiphanes Blade Upgrade Guide in Genshin Impact

Learn how to upgrade and refine the Exaiphanes Blade for the Traveler in Genshin Impact using Snezhnaya Statues of the Seven.

The Exaiphanes Blade is a free sword exclusively for the Traveler in Genshin Impact, obtained through the Snezhnaya Archon Quest. Unlike standard weapons, its upgrade and refinement system is tied directly to the Snezhnaya Statues of the Seven, making it a unique but time-gated process. This guide covers everything you need to know to fully upgrade the blade, including the step-by-step process, upgrade stats, and current limitations in version 7.0.

At a Glance

  • Prerequisite: Complete the Snezhnaya Archon Quest to obtain the sword.
  • Unlock Cryo Traveler: Ensure the Traveler has unlocked their Cryo form.
  • Upgrade Method: Use the Traveler's Cryo attack (Elemental Skill or Burst) on a Snezhnaya Statue of the Seven, then interact with the statue and select "View Exaiphanes Blade" to upgrade.
  • Refinement Limit: Each statue provides one upgrade; with only 5 statues available in version 7.0, maximum refinement is currently limited to level 5 (upgrade 5) out of a possible 7.

How to Upgrade the Exaiphanes Blade

  1. Equip the Traveler with Cryo – Switch the Traveler to Cryo element via the Statue of the Seven in any region.
  2. Locate a Snezhnaya Statue of the Seven – These are scattered across Snezhnaya. Use the in-game map to find them.
  3. Hit the Statue with Cryo – Use the Traveler's Cryo Elemental Skill or Burst to activate the statue.
  4. Interact and Upgrade – Approach the statue, select "View Exaiphanes Blade," and then choose to upgrade.
  5. Repeat – Travel to the next statue and repeat the process. Each statue can only be used once.

Upgrade Stats Overview

The following table shows the stats and passives gained at each upgrade level. Note that upgrades 3 and 5 only increase base stats without changing the passive.

Upgrade No. Level Base ATK Crit Rate Key Passive Effect
1 20 122 12.7% ATK +16% for 8s after hitting an opponent; regenerates 3 Energy. Trigger once every 5s.
2 40 235 18.5% Crit DMG +6% per element resonated; ATK +20% for 8s plus 3 Energy.
3 60 382 24.4% No passive upgrade.
4 80 532 30.2% Crit DMG +6% per element; ATK +24% for 8s plus 5 Energy.
5 90 608 33.1% No passive upgrade.
6 90 608 33.1% Crit DMG +6% per element; ATK +32% for 8s plus 5 Energy.
7 90 608 33.1% Crit DMG +6% per element; ATK +40% for 8s plus 5 Energy.

Current Limitations in Version 7.0

Only five Statues of the Seven exist in Snezhnaya as of version 7.0, meaning you can only reach upgrade level 5 out of the possible 7. This limits the sword's full potential until future updates add more statues. The sword's base stats at level 5 (608 ATK, 33.1% Crit Rate) are already strong, but the passive remains at the upgrade 4 level unless more statues become available.

Should You Prioritize This Sword?

For F2P and low-spend players, the Exaiphanes Blade is a fantastic option for the Traveler, as it offers high base ATK, Crit Rate, and a conditional ATK buff that also regenerates energy. However, its reliance on a limited number of statues means you cannot max it out immediately. If you main the Traveler, this sword is worth the effort. If not, it may be a longer-term project.

Final Tips

  • Mark each statue you use on your map to avoid revisiting.
  • The Cryo attack must hit the statue directly; a miss may require a retry.
  • The passive can trigger off-field, making it useful for quick-swap teams.
