Genshin Impact Version 7.0 Map

Version 7.0, Everwinter Without Mercy, went live on August 12, 2026 and made Snezhnaya explorable for the first time. The initial release includes Volkodlak Tundra, White Birch Snowgrave, Everfrozen Earth, Flamefeather Valley, and Fellfrost Peak.

If you have completed Archon Quest Prologue: Act III Song of the Dragon and Freedom, a Teleport Waypoint southwest of Volkodlak Tundra unlocks automatically, giving you a direct route into Snezhnaya. The region is part of the main Teyvat map and can be explored through the official interactive map above.

Which Genshin Impact Maps Are Separate from Teyvat?

Most regions are connected to the main Teyvat map, but several areas use separate map screens or independent exploration layers.

Enkanomiya

Enkanomiya is an underground civilization accessed through Watatsumi Island. It uses its own map instead of appearing directly on the standard Inazuma overworld.

The Chasm: Underground Mines

The Chasm's surface is part of Liyue, while The Chasm: Underground Mines opens on a separate map with multiple internal layers.

Sea of Bygone Eras

The Sea of Bygone Eras is accessed through Petrichor and its related questline. It uses its own map and contains dedicated underwater exploration routes.

Frost Moon and Lunar Areas

Luna VIII's lunar exploration areas use special layers connected to the "Moon Gazing" quest. Access depends on quest progression rather than ordinary travel across Teyvat.

Do not confuse multi-layered maps with fully separate maps. Regions such as Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya can contain underground or elevated layers while still belonging to the main regional map.

Permanent Maps vs Limited-Time Maps

The timeline above focuses on permanent areas that remain available after their release version ends.

Genshin Impact has also used temporary maps for summer events and other limited-time content. These areas disappear after their event version ends, so they are not included in the permanent map timeline.

If you are looking for an older event map, check whether the area was temporary before trying to reach it in the current version.

Easybreeze Holiday Resort is an important exception. It was associated with Version 5.8's summer content, but the area itself is permanent.

How to Use the Map for Efficient Exploration

Enable only the markers related to your current goal. Showing every chest, enemy, puzzle, resource, and collectible at once can make dense areas hard to read.

Complete major regional World Quests before starting a full collection route. In areas such as Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, Nod-Krai, Enkanomiya, and The Chasm, quests can unlock entrances, remove barriers, change terrain, or reveal new map layers.

Clear one subregion at a time. Finishing one Inazuma island or one Sumeru desert area before moving on makes it easier to track completed pins and spot anything you missed.

Check elevation and map layers before traveling. A nearby pin may actually be inside a tunnel, underground chamber, or elevated route with an entrance much farther away.

For material farming, combine Local Specialties, enemy drops, and nearby Teleport Waypoints in the same route. Short regional loops are usually easier to repeat than one route covering an entire nation.

Genshin Impact Map Release FAQ

What was the first Genshin Impact map?

Mondstadt and Liyue formed the original explorable map when Genshin Impact launched on September 28, 2020. Dragonspine became the first major permanent map expansion in Version 1.2.

What order were the Genshin Impact regions released in?

The broad nation order was Mondstadt and Liyue, followed by Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Nod-Krai. Each era also included permanent subregions and separate maps such as Dragonspine, Enkanomiya, The Chasm, Chenyu Vale, and the Sea of Bygone Eras.

Which version added Inazuma?

Version 2.0 introduced Narukami Island, Kannazuka, and Yashiori Island. Version 2.1 added Watatsumi and Seirai, while Version 2.2 completed the main island expansion with Tsurumi Island.

Which version added the Sumeru desert?

The first Sumeru desert areas arrived in Version 3.1. The desert later expanded with the Desert of Hadramaveth in Version 3.4 and Gavireh Lajavard and Realm of Farakhkert in Version 3.6.

Is Chenyu Vale part of Fontaine or Liyue?

Chenyu Vale is part of Liyue. Version 4.4 added Chenyu Vale: Upper Vale, Chenyu Vale: Southern Mountain, and Mt. Laixin, creating a land connection between northern Liyue and the Fontaine border.

Is Easybreeze Holiday Resort a temporary map?

No. Easybreeze Holiday Resort was added as a permanent Natlan area in Version 5.8, although limited-time summer activities were held there during that update.

Is Nod-Krai the Version 6.0 map?

Nod-Krai is the major region introduced in Version "Luna I," the official title used by HoYoverse for the update after Version 5.8. Players may still encounter "Genshin Impact 6.0 map" in searches and community guides.

Is the Genshin Impact 7.0 Snezhnaya map available?

Yes. Genshin Impact Version 7.0 launched on August 12, 2026 and opened the first explorable areas of Snezhnaya: Volkodlak Tundra, White Birch Snowgrave, Everfrozen Earth, Flamefeather Valley, and Fellfrost Peak.

Does the interactive map automatically sync all collected chests?

Players should not treat the interactive map as a perfect automatic record of every chest or collectible already obtained in the game. Use its marker controls as a separate exploration checklist and update completed pins when needed.

Conclusion

From Mondstadt and Liyue in Version 1.0 to Snezhnaya in Version 7.0, the Genshin Impact map has grown into a network of nations, islands, deserts, underwater areas, underground regions, and separate exploration maps.

Use the version timeline when you want to check when a region was added, and use the HoYoLAB interactive map above when you need exact locations for collectibles, enemies, resources, or waypoints.
