How to Trade in Genshin Impact

To trade, you must first build a Storage Device using the Fab-Vision mode. This mode becomes available after you pick up the Eye of Graeae device early in Snezhnaya's first Archon Quest. You'll need to progress a bit further in the story to unlock the ability to build constructs.

Once built, a Storage Device has 30 item slots, but you can stack the same item twice, effectively holding up to 60 items. Any player can add items to a Storage Device, and any player can take items from it. However, taking items consumes one of your five daily trades, while storing items does not.

Finding Storage Devices

Since Storage Devices are player-built, their locations vary. Many helpful players place them near Statues of the Seven and Teleport Waypoints for easy access. Check every device you encounter—you might find useful ascension materials like Frostfairy Flowers or Flockingweed.

If you can't see any Storage Devices, you may have accidentally toggled off the option to receive Prime Ice constructs. To re-enable it, open the build mode in Fab-Vision, select the Storage Device, go to 'Construct Details', click the settings cog, and toggle the option back on.

How to Trade in Co-op

Trading in co-op requires the world owner to build a Storage Device. Both players can then use it to exchange items, up to the daily limit of five trades. Note that the Storage Device might not appear for the guest player in some cases—this is still being tested.

Standard co-op restrictions apply: players must be at the same World Level, or a higher-level player can join a lower-level world. Since lower-level players cannot join higher-level worlds, the lower-level player should be the one to build the Storage Device. Ensure both players have reached Snezhnaya, obtained the Eye of Graeae, and spoken to Alyosha before attempting co-op trading.

What Is Tradable?

Currently, only two categories of items are tradable:

• Materials: Local specialties, cooking ingredients, dye, wood, fishing bait, essential oils, and Prime Ice.
• Food: Any cooked meal.

This means you cannot trade boss drops, Artifacts, or weapons. While this prevents endgame exploits, it also means you can't help a friend skip the grind for high-level gear. However, sharing ascension materials is a huge boon for new players or those building multiple characters, as some materials (like Sea Ganoderma) are locked behind region progression.

Tips for Efficient Trading

• Prioritize rare materials: Use your daily trades on items that are time-gated or hard to farm, such as regional specialties from distant areas.
• Coordinate with friends: Plan trades in advance to maximize the daily limit. For example, trade two stacks of the same material per use to get 10 items per day.
• Toggle construct visibility: If you want a private storage area, disable the option to receive other players' constructs. This is useful for solo players who just want to move items between their own characters.
