Version 3.5 brings the Mengzhou region, two new 5-star Resonators, Electro Rover, new Echoes, and major optimizations to Wuthering Waves.
The next major update for Wuthering Waves is almost here. Version 3.5, titled "Blade of Past Resounds, Lingering Dream Hymns," introduces the expansive new region of Mengzhou, two new 5-star Resonators, an Electro attribute for the Rover, and a suite of system improvements. The update goes live on 2026-07-10 and includes a significant resource compression that will free up storage space in the long run.
This patch marks a pivotal moment for players returning or continuing their journey, especially with the introduction of the Pioneer Experience system that eases catch-up. For the latest Wuthering Waves news and guides, we've got you covered.

Banner Breakdown: Yangyang: Xuanling & Suisui
Version 3.5 features two phased character banners. The first phase brings Yangyang: Xuanling (5-star Havoc Sword) with her signature weapon Azure Oath. The second phase introduces Suisui (5-star Glacio Rectifier) alongside Firstlight's Herald. Both characters are new additions to the roster, not reruns.
Should You Pull: Yangyang: Xuanling?
Yangyang: Xuanling is a Havoc-element Sword user. Given the existing Havoc carry options like Camellya or Havoc Rover, her role will depend on her kit specifics — we'll have a full breakdown closer to release. If you lack a strong Havoc DPS, she's worth considering. Her weapon, Azure Oath, also boosts Sword users significantly.
Should You Pull: Suisui?
Suisui is a Glacio Rectifier user, a niche that already includes characters like Zhezhi (Support) and Lingyang (Main DPS). If she leans toward a support or sub-DPS role, she might open new team comps, especially for Glacio-heavy rosters. Wait for detailed kit analysis before committing.
For a more detailed look at pull value, check our Should You Pull guides (content from previous versions still applies for methodology).
New Region: Mengzhou – Land of Xuanfang
Mengzhou is a sprawling area with four main sub-regions: Xuanfang Hold, Eastern Xuan Peaks, Western Fang Peaks, and Southern Yuan Hills. Access is granted through Main Quest Chapter IV Act I "The Wind Before the Storm." Expect new world bosses, puzzles, and overworld loot. The region also introduces the Tactical Hologram: Sparring Challenge: Denia, a new endgame boss encounter.
New Echoes & Sonata Effects
Version 3.5 adds 17 new Echoes, including the set-based ones like Fog Lionarch, Smiter, and the Kernel Puppet series (Joy, Anger, Worry, etc.). Three new 5-piece Sonata Effects are introduced:
- Lamp of Nether Road — likely Havoc-oriented
- Heart of Evil's Purge — possibly supports the new Echoes
- Song of Feathered Trace — may benefit Glacio or hybrid setups
Two new Tacet Fields and one Tacet Discord Nest will help farm these sets. Players should plan resin usage accordingly.
System Optimizations & QoL
This update is unusually heavy on quality-of-life improvements:
- Pioneer Experience — integrates story fast track and adds "Next Stop: Mengzhou" for new players
- Resonator Voice Pack Customization — change voices per character
- Bioprint feature — likely a way to craft specific Echoes (details pending)
- Echo Gallery & Enemies — now with dynamic breathing animations
- Story Auto-Play — improved pacing
- Guidebook — revamped for better navigation
- Rover model optimization — visual touch-up
- PC resource compression — reduces total storage footprint
- XeSS 3 support — frame generation for smoother performance
- Mobile resource cleanup — streamlined file management
Events & Rewards
Several limited-time events will run during Version 3.5:
- A Glimpse of Xuanfang — area exploration event
- Shape of Yesterday — photo collection
- Lament Recon: Tacet Crisis — combat event
- Recaptured: Action Highlights — combat photography
- Lollo Campaign: New Journey — featured commission event
- Virtual Crisis: Quadrant Trials — crisis trial challenge
- Gifts of Aftertune — 7-day login event
- H5 Web Event: In Search of Lost Jade — external browser event
Most events likely reward Astrites, upgrade materials, and limited-name cards. Exact start dates are not detailed in official materials beyond the version window.
