New Resonators and Weapons
Yangyang: Xuanling (Havoc | Sword)
Yangyang’s 5-star variant is a Havoc main DPS who deals Heavy Attack DMG and inflicts Havoc Bane. Her kit features strong grouping capabilities, making her a potent addition to Havoc-focused teams. She is the second daughter of a musical family from Mingting, now acting as a Xuan Watcher at Xuanfang Hold. Her signature weapon is Azure Oath, a sword that amplifies her combat style.
Suisui (Glacio | Rectifier)
Suisui is a Glacio support and healer who provides DMG Amplification and applies Glacio Chafe. As the young director of the Zhaoming Commerce Guild, she uses a water fan to heal and empower allies. Her signature weapon Firstlight’s Herald complements her supportive role.
New Weapons
Both 5-star weapons will be available alongside their respective character banners. Azure Oath (Sword) is tailor-made for Yangyang: Xuanling, while Firstlight’s Herald (Rectifier) is designed for Suisui.
Should You Pull?
Yangyang: Xuanling is a high-investment main DPS with excellent scaling on Heavy Attacks and Havoc Bane. For players lacking a strong Havoc DPS (e.g., no Camellya or Havoc Rover), she offers a competitive alternative. F2P players may consider skipping if they already have a fully built Havoc team, but her unique traction and damage profile make her a valuable asset for endgame modes like Endstate Matrix.
Suisui fills a rare niche as a Glacio support/healer with team-wide attack buffs. She synergizes well with characters like Glacio Rover or future Glacio DPS units. Light-spenders who want to bolster their support roster should consider her; F2P players can skip if they already own Verina or Shorekeeper.
Both signature weapons are strong but not essential—4-star alternatives exist, though they won’t match the performance ceiling.

QoL & Systems
Tune Break Optimizations
The Tune Break system receives significant updates: it can now be triggered after switching Resonators even when the previous character had Tune Break available. It also triggers immediately after Resonance Liberation or Intro Skills, and the interaction range is now unified across all Resonators. This change makes combat smoother and rewards aggressive play.
Bioprinting & Synthesis
Bioprinting allows players to craft Ascension materials from different regions using Regenerative Pistils (purchasable via Oscillated Coral Store). This is a huge time-saver for building new characters without needing to traverse old zones.
Auto-Play Modes
Story segments now offer Semi-Auto and Full-Auto modes, with a countdown timer for dialogue choices in Full-Auto. This is a welcome addition for players who want to relax during cutscenes.
Resonator Voice Customization
Players can now download and switch voice packs for individual Resonators (non-story lines). Settings are saved server-side and sync across devices.
PC Storage Reduction
Version 3.5 reduces installed size by approximately 20 GB through resource compression. Mobile users also get an improved voice resource cleanup option.
Other Notable Improvements
- Expedition Motorbike now supports model changes and boost drift.
- Echo Gallery and Enemy Gallery now feature subtle dynamic animations.
- WavesLine chat has speed-up and filter options.
- Map gains reward previews and better pathfinding.
- Endstate Matrix receives Cycle 2 with new scoring mechanics and a Cycle Medal system.
- Graphics on PC adds Intel XeSS3 support for frame generation.
- Controller vibration added for gliding and flying.
Pre-Patch To-Dos (Before July 10)
- Spend all Waveplates to avoid cap loss during maintenance.
- Complete any unfinished Simulation runs or Tower of Adversity floors, as they may reset.
- If you’re near pity on the character banner, decide whether to pull now or wait for the new units.
- Stock up on Astrite and Tuning Materials from existing events.
- Clear any limited-time quests from Version 3.4 that will expire.
Day-1 Priorities (After Maintenance)
- Claim maintenance compensation (600 Astrite + 2 Crystal Solvent).
- Start Main Quest Chapter IV Act I to unlock the new region and expedition motorbike.
- Explore Mengzhou: Land of Xuanfang to unlock Resonance Beacons and collect new materials.
- Check the A Glimpse of Xuanfang event and begin gathering fragments.
- If pulling for Yangyang: Xuanling or Suisui, use your Astrites wisely—remember the 50/50 system and pity carries over.
- Equip the new Sonata Effects if you plan to build the new Resonators immediately.
Conclusion
Wuthering Waves Version 3.5 is a landmark update that expands the world with a rich new region, introduces two compelling 5-star Resonators, and streamlines many systems. The QoL improvements—especially Tune Break and Bioprinting—will make daily play more fluid. Whether you’re diving into the story of Xuanfang Hold or chasing the latest meta, this patch offers plenty to keep players engaged for weeks.
