ZZZ Version 3.3: Discord Legacy Functions Ending

HoYoverse has announced that Zenless Zone Zero will retire several legacy Discord integration features on October 14, 2025, coinciding with the Version 3.3 update. The change affects account linking and game status display, but not other community functions. For players who rely on Discord to track their progress or share activity, this is a notable shift in how the game connects with the platform.

The discontinuation is part of a broader upgrade to the Discord partnership, which will introduce new linking services and rewards. Existing link rewards you've already claimed will remain yours, and the new system will offer separate incentives. Below, we break down what's changing, what stays the same, and what you should do before the deadline.

At a Glance

• Legacy Discord account linking will be discontinued on October 14, 2025.
• The original account linking webpage will no longer be accessible.
• Discord game status display (showing your in-game activity) will be removed.
• All other Discord community functions remain unaffected.
• Previously claimed link rewards are safe; new linking services will bring their own rewards.
• No impact on in-game progress or account security.

What's Changing on October 14

The official notice outlines three specific legacy functions that will be retired:

1. Existing account linkage – Any current links between your Zenless Zone Zero account and Discord will become invalid. You will no longer be able to use the old linking method to verify your account or access associated perks.
2. Original account linking webpage – The dedicated page where you previously linked your account will be taken offline. Any bookmarks or saved links to that page will stop working.
3. Discord game status display – The feature that displayed your current in-game activity (such as which mode you're playing) on your Discord profile will be discontinued.

These changes are tied to the Version 3.3 update, which HoYoverse describes as a "comprehensive upgrade" of its Discord partnership. The exact time of the discontinuation is not stated in official materials, but it will occur on October 14, 2025.

What Stays the Same

It's important to note that this adjustment is limited in scope. According to the notice, "all other Discord community functions remain unaffected." That means:

• Discord server boosts, community events, and chat channels continue as normal.
• Any roles or permissions you have on the official Discord server are not impacted.
• In-game systems, including account security and cross-save, are not affected.

The discontinuation is purely about the legacy linking and status display tools. If you never used those features, you won't notice any difference.

Rewards and Transition

If you previously linked your account and claimed rewards, those rewards are yours to keep. The notice explicitly states that the discontinuation "won't affect link rewards you've already claimed." Additionally, the upcoming new linking service will come with its own set of rewards, and the two are not mutually exclusive—meaning you can benefit from both the old and new systems if you participated in the old one.

HoYoverse advises players who used the legacy functions to "keep an eye on future announcements and the new version usage guide" to avoid any disruption. No specific details about the new rewards or the new linking process have been shared yet.

Pre-Update To-Dos

With the deadline approaching, here's what you should consider doing before October 14, 2025:

• Check your Discord profile – If you currently display your Zenless Zone Zero game status, note that it will disappear. No action is needed, but be aware.
• Claim any pending rewards – If you have unclaimed rewards from the old linking system, make sure to claim them before the service ends. The notice doesn't specify a cutoff for claiming, but it's safer to act early.
• Stay informed – Follow official channels for the new usage guide and announcements about the upgraded Discord partnership.

Day-1 Priorities After Version 3.3

Once the update goes live, here's what to check:

• New linking service – Look for the new account linking option and any associated rewards. The notice mentions it will be introduced alongside the update.
• Discord integration – Verify that other community functions still work as expected. If you encounter issues, report them through official support.
• In-game mail – Check for any compensation or notification about the changes.

Unconfirmed — Subject to Change

Details about the new linking service, including its rewards and exact implementation, have not been fully disclosed. The notice only states that it will come with its own rewards and that a usage guide will be provided. Any specifics beyond that are Unconfirmed — subject to change.

Conclusion

The retirement of legacy Discord functions on October 14, 2025 marks a transition to a new phase of the Zenless Zone Zero and Discord partnership.
