Shinku’s Ultimate & Gear: Unlocking in NTE 999 Nights
Learn how to unlock Shinku’s ultimate and equipment in Neverness to Everness’ 999 Nights mode, including the quest steps and tips to level up quickly.
If you've been pulling for Shinku in Neverness to Everness but haven't seen her full potential yet, there's a key unlock waiting in the 999 Nights event-like mode. Completing the Dreamwalk Corridor Episode on Story difficulty is the only way to obtain her ultimate ability and signature gear—essential for any player building her as a main DPS.
The mode functions as a self-contained adventure where you start at level one and progress through the Warren Continent. While you can farm some of Shinku's equipment early, the full set and her ultimate only drop after a specific story milestone. Prerequisites for Unlocking Shinku's Ultimate
To begin, you must complete the Dreamwalk Corridor Episode at Story difficulty. This main quest sends you, along with Mint, Iroi, and Shinku, into the 999 Nights realm. You will explore several distinct areas:
- Chocolate Volcano
- Milk Ice Mountain
- Amber Sugar Lake
- Crimson Castle
Each area has a minimum level requirement, which is visible in the quest log. You will level up by defeating monsters and completing objectives as you push through the episode. Once you finish Story difficulty, the rest of Shinku's kit becomes available on Challenge and higher difficulties.
Finding the Severed Tail of the Gold Dragon
The key item you are looking for is the Severed Tail of the Gold Dragon, located in Crimson Castle during the Dreamwalk Corridor Episode. Upon collecting it, Shinku immediately unlocks her ultimate and receives the following gear:
- Blazing Dragon Sigil (accessory)
- Dragon and Crimson Dragon – Blazing Dragon Knight set pieces: Tunic, Boots, Trousers, Pauldrons
This gear is exclusive to the 999 Nights mode and provides significant stat boosts that synergize with Shinku's Dragon Knight playstyle. With the ultimate unlocked, you can face the Crimson Dragon final boss in Story mode with her full move set.

Leveling Up Quickly in 999 Nights
If you find yourself under-leveled for the later areas, use these strategies to accelerate your progress:
- Focus on dense enemy clusters – The Warren Continent has several spots with high enemy density, especially near the borders of each zone. Clearing these repeatedly is the fastest XP source.
- Use bonfires to refresh monsters – After clearing an area, interact with the bonfire and press the Refresh Monsters button (top-left corner of the screen). This respawns all enemies instantly.
- Protect Keeper Fuzzies – Each area contains a Keeper Fuzzy quest where you defend against waves of enemies. These encounters give generous XP and are worth repeating.
- Build kill combos – Accumulating 80 kills or more spawns an AoE damage circle that wipes out nearby enemies, speeding up your clear time significantly.
By combining these methods, you can reduce the grind to reach the required levels for Amber Sugar Lake and Crimson Castle.
Once you have Shinku's ultimate and equipment, you can freely switch to Challenge difficulty for harder enemies and better rewards. This unlock is a one-time requirement per event cycle, so focus on completing the Dreamwalk Corridor Episode as soon as possible.
